Aamir khan’s production “Lagaan”, an Oscar nominated movie in the Best Foreign Language Film category has made its place in the All-Time 25 Best Sports Movies listed by Time magazine. It’s in the 14th place on the list.
Lagaan was directed & written by Ashutosh Gowariker, focused on the lives of peasants from the western Indian town who strike a desperate deal with representatives of the English Raj- if the locals defeat them in a game of cricket they get a break on their 'Lagaan', or land tax.
It is the only Indian movie in the list which is topped by Coen Brothers ‘The Big Lebowski’. On whole, it’s an all-time-rounder movie that has made the nation proud.
